Visiting this website

This website runs on a server I operate myself. When you open it, the data technically required to deliver the page is processed: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the volume of data transferred, browser type and operating system.

Access logs are recorded and deleted automatically after 14 days. They serve solely the technically faultless operation and the detection of attacks. No evaluation for statistical or advertising purposes takes place, and the data is not combined with other sources.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the secure and uninterrupted operation of the website.

Hosting

The server is located in a data centre of 1blu GmbH, Riedemannweg 60, 13627 Berlin, Germany. The provider supplies the infrastructure and processes connection data in order to fend off attacks. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place. The data centres are located in Germany.

Contact by email

If you contact me by email, your details are stored in order to handle the enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required, unless statutory retention periods apply.

The email service is operated by mailbox.org AG, Berlin, Germany. The provider processes the content and metadata of your messages on my behalf. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place. The servers are located in Germany.

Video calls

For first conversations and project coordination I use Jitsi Meet through my email provider mailbox.org AG, Berlin, Germany. No account is required to take part, you simply receive a link from me.

The following is processed: your IP address, the display name you choose, audio and video data during the call and, where applicable, messages from the text chat. This data is processed solely to hold the conversation and is not stored permanently. No recording takes place. I ask participants to use their own name as the display name so that everyone can tell who is who. This is not enforced technically, a pseudonym is possible.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as the conversation serves the initiation or performance of a contract. Operation takes place on my behalf under the same data processing agreement as the email service.

Fonts

The fonts used are served from this server. No connection to third-party servers is made.

Language and colour mode setting

Your choice of light or dark mode is stored in your browser’s local storage so that it is kept for your next visit. This entry does not leave your device, is not transmitted to me and is not used for any analysis. You can delete it through your browser settings.

No tracking

This website uses no analytics or tracking services and embeds no third-party content.

Your rights

You have the right to information (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR. An email to the address above is sufficient.

Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

Encryption

This website is served exclusively over an encrypted connection. You can tell whether the connection is encrypted from your browser’s address bar.
